Terms of Use Policy

Users/visitors of Update Publishing House (henceforth UPH) website are kindly requested to read carefully and accept the terms and conditions of use. In the event of any disagreement with those terms and conditions, they are requested not to proceed. As use of the site indicates acceptance and compliance with the terms and conditions, UPH reserves the right to amend the terms whenever it deems it necessary without prior notice.

Submission/publish/post/install illegal, harmful, threatening, damaging, defamatory, obscene, violent, pornographic, racist, offensive and libelous content is strictly prohibited. Any publication/post/content can be corrected or deleted from the UPH website without prior notice.

This is a professional website hosting scientific content therefore UPH expects users/visitors to behave accordingly.

It is permitted to use the content of the UPH website only for educational, scientific and research purposes on condition that there is no direct or indirect financial gain and sources are always cited. However, Users/visitors understand and accept that they do not have the right to reproduce, copy, sell, resell, and/or commercially exploit in any way all or part of the content hosted on the e-publishing website.

If users/visitors believe published content may waive legal rights, is unethical or dangerous, they should immediately contact the publisher ([email protected]).

UPH may change the format and/or content and/or services of the website at any time they deem it necessary and without prior notice other than an announcement on the website five days before implementation of the change along with the date of that change.

Users/visitors will be deemed to have accepted such changes if they use the website and its content. UPH may restrict the availability of the website temporarily or permanently (to carry out support or maintenance work, update content etc) and does not guarantee that the website will be available for use at any particular time.

The data (name, e-mails ID, affiliation address, ORCID iD, etc.) entered in our website will be used exclusively for the stated purposes only and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party. Users/visitors of UPH website have the right to delete their personal data, correct and/or update personal data and/or inactivate their account at any time by visiting the relevant journals’ site.

UPH reserve the right to deny posting/publishing or moving or deleting any content available via this e-publishing website.

Users/visitors of UPH website are prohibited from framing this website, or mirroring it without prior written permission from UPH.

In addition, UPH reserve the right to delete, without warning, any content violating these terms of use.

UPH is not liable for violation of these terms due to force majeure, as well as any delays arising from circumstances out of its control, such as extreme weather conditions, earthquakes, floods, fire, emergencies, disasters, strikes both in and out of India, war, terrorism, mechanical failure and generally any circumstance which prevents the proper functioning of the website. UPH will take the appropriate steps to meet its obligations within a reasonable time.

Privacy Policy

The data (name, e-mails ID, affiliation address, ORCID iD, etc.) entered in our website will be used exclusively for the stated purposes only and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party. The data collected from registered and non-registered users falls within the scope of the standard functioning of peer-reviewed journals. The journal’s editorial team collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with the journal. It includes information that makes communication possible for the editorial process; it is used to inform readers about the authorship, editing of content and it enables collecting aggregated data on readership behaviors.

Editorial Policies

Initial Screening

Upon reception of an article, the Editorial Staff will screen the article for format and journal scope, originality and potential impact. If the article is not up to the standard format, the article will be returned to the author for correcting the format.

If the format is according to the requirements, then it will be assigned for External Peer Review.

External Peer Review

During submission, the author can suggest at least 2 reviewers who can evaluate the manuscript. The reviewers should not be collaborators or previous co-authors of any of the submitting authors. They should be from another institution with an institution email address. The editors may or may not contact the suggested reviewers.

Open Access Policy

Journals under UPH are committed to promote Open Access. The articles published in UPH’s journals are freely available to the public through online medium without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access. The UPH’s journals operated on a continuous publishing model and provide immediate open access to its content, soon after final proof corrections from the author (no waiting periods for issue compilation). If the pdf full paper is not available (in the case of conference abstracts) sufficient link will be provided to contact the authors for further information.

Open Access Licensing Policy

All articles published in Journals under UPH are open access licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) which permits unrestricted use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, or format for any purpose, even commercially provided the work is properly cited. Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.

Copyright

UPH allow the author(s) to retain ownership of the copyright for their published article content, with the understanding that the work is under Creative Commons License (CC BY), so that they agree anyone to use the content as per the standards of Creative Commons License (CC BY) explained above.

Plagiarism Policy

UPH is dedicated to publish only original material. The submitted manuscripts should be original works and that has neither been published elsewhere, nor is under review elsewhere in any other Journal/Conference Proceedings or Books. The article will be crosschecked with CrossCheck - iThenticate plagiarism screening software before final publication.

If any manuscript is found to be plagiarized, immediate action will be taken, which will include and not limited to the following:

  • Retraction of paper in question, from online system, review, and from all other processing.
  • Black listing of concerned author(s) in question.
  • Rejection of all other manuscripts submitted by the author(s) in question.
  • Reporting of the issue to the concerned authorities, including the authors' institution and/or funding organizations.

Retraction Policy

Article Withdrawal

In any stage of publication (before fully published with a doi registration), an article can be withdrawn by author after submitting a written request with justifications. In post publication stage, if any readers or any third person complaint about the content, copyright issue, fraudulent data, multiple submission, plagiarism, the article will be withdrawn from the online system by the publisher with a note on retraction.

Article Corrections

In case of significant correction, an erratum/corrigendum/addendum will be published and linked with original published article.

Article Retractions

In case of complaints (from any person) with proof of plagiarism or copyright issues, the publisher will retract/remove the published article with a note on retraction mentioning the reasons and the case may be informed to the concerned author’s institution and/or funding organizations of the article. The retraction of a published article will be decided by the publisher after discussion with the concerned editor.

Archiving Policy

UPH is permanently archived in PKP Preservation Network (PN) and LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) systems to ensure a secure and permanent archive for journal content.

Experiments on Animals

The authors of papers, in which experiments on animals were conducted, should give a statement of certification that: Experiments on animals were performed in accordance with the ethical guidelines and regulations set forth by [Name of Institution/Committee of the country where experiments carried out] and also should be in accordance with the internationally accepted principles for laboratory animal use and care.

Conflict of Interest

For a transparent nature of the publishing process, all parties involved in the article should reveal any possible association which poses a conflict of interest in connection with the manuscript.

Authors at the time of submission should declare the conflicts of interest in a written statement. It is understood upon submission of an article, that the authors acknowledge the sources of funding and any related associations or assistance from any third parties related to the article.

Reviewers are responsible for revealing any potential conflicts with the article in review, and it is strongly advised that the reviewers should not consider them for review.

Permissions

If authors would like to include figures, tables, or text passages that have already been published in any other online/print publication, in their article, they should take written permission from the previous publisher/author before article submission to UPH journals. The authors should submit this letter along with the manuscript submission.

All complaints will be resolved as quickly as possible and in consultation with the concerned journal editors.
