Flowers and fruits used in drug formulations available at Tehsil Joginder Nagar, District Mandi (H.P.)

Abstract

The aim of present study is to provide information of flowers and fruits that have been used in drug formulations from Tehsil Joginder Nagar, District Mandi of Himachal Pradesh. During the course of study, 120 plant species of 56 families and 100 genera belong angiosperms were collected [including (87 fruit drugs of 73 genera and 45 families) and (52 flower drugs of 47 genera and 33 families)]. Out of these 56 families, 53 families belong to Dicotyledons and 03 belong to Monocotyledons. All plant specimens were preserved in the form of herbarium, authenticated and enumerated with their Botanical, Family and Local name. All plants were compared with the existing literature for their medicinal value.
