Keloids are firm, rubbery lesions or shiny, fibrous nodules, and can vary from pink to flesh-coloured or red to dark brown in colour, benign, non-contagious, and sometimes accompanied by severe itchiness and pain, which affects the movement of skin. Keloids scar formation is nearly 1000 years old aetiology and pathogenesis is still poorly understood. Current paper is an overview of the aetiology, formation and the severity of keloids. It also gives the complete information of the prevailing treatment and its complications, and few case studies to strengthen the current strategy.Downloads
