Article Types:
Manuscript Structure:
All portions of the manuscript must be in normal, plain font (e.g., 12-point Times Roman and double-spaced) and all pages numbered starting from the title page. The Title Should be a brief phrase describing the contents of the paper. The Abstract should be informative and completely self-explanatory, briefly present the topic, state the scope of the experiments, indicate significant data, and point out major findings and conclusions. The Keywords should be between 3 to 6. The Introduction should provide a clear statement of the problem, the relevant literature on the subject. Materials and Methods should be complete enough to allow experiments to be reproduced. Results should be presented with clarity and precision. The Discussion should interpret the findings in view of the results obtained in this and in past studies on this topic. State the Conclusions in a few sentences at the end of the Discussion. The Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc., and should be brief.
Tables and Figures
Tables and Figures should be numbered consecutively. Citation of tables and figures should use the following format: Table 1, Table 2, ... Figure 1, Figure 2, ... etc.. (Parts in a figure can be identified by A, B, C, D, ... and cited as Figure 1A, Figure 1B, Figure 1C etc..
Tables should be created/formatted using Microsoft Word table format and they must be editable. Tables in Image format will not be accepted.
Both Tables and Figures should be included at the end of the manuscript with captions and make sure the images are of the highest resolution and any letters inside are clear and legible.
Nomenclature and Units
Scientific names should be in italics (Example: Azadirachta indica) and write in full form (Both genus and species) in the title of the manuscript as well as at the first mention in a paper. After the first mention, the first letter of the genus name followed by the full species name can be used (e.g., A. indica). SI Units (International System of Units) should be used throughout the manuscript.
References
References in the text should be cited by name followed by the year of publication and the reference list entries should be alphabetized at the end of the manuscript. Two or more works by the same author in the same year must be differentiated by the addition of ‘a’, ‘b’, ‘c’ etc., after the year of publication
Citations in Text
In-text citations include the author and year, either both inside parentheses or with the author names in running text and the year in parentheses.
The use of “&” when both author and year are inside parentheses
Example: Some Sida species were studied for their trichome diversity (Ashwathy & Krishnakumar, 2020).
Whereas “and” should be used when only the year is in parentheses.
Example: Ashwathy and Krishnakumar (2020) reported the trichome diversity of some Sida species.
Use et al., if a study was reported by more than two authors. Also, the groups of references should be listed chronologically (order by year of publication, the earlier one first) and separated by semicolons.
Example: (Chamle et al., 2011; Kumar et al., 2013; Lone et al., 2018).

DOI
The DOI numbers should be used in reference lists when they are available. Includes https and the prefix doi.org (https://doi.org/) before each DOI number and No full stop should be used at the end of a DOI.

Manuscript Submission:
Manuscripts should be submitted through Online Submission Portal. Corresponding/Submitting author must register via https://updatepublishing.com/journal/index.php/jaa/user/register and will then receive an e-mail containing a Username and Password that will allow access for manuscript submission. For already registered authors can submit their manuscripts via https://updatepublishing.com/journal/index.php/jaa/login by login.
Peer Review Process:
The submitted manuscripts will be initially screened by the editorial office followed by the Internal Board of Reviewing Editors. The suitable manuscripts will be assigned to External Peer Review by at least two reviewers which helps the journal to maintain its high integrity.
Suggestion of Reviewers
The authors are encouraged to submit the Name and contact details of three reviewers with the appropriate expertise. They should be from different institutions to the authors. Also, the proposed reviewers should neither be current collaborators of the authors of the manuscript nor have published with any of the co-authors of the manuscript within the last five years. The authors can suggest reviewers from the reference list of the manuscript. But, the editors will not necessarily approach these referees.
Article Processing Charges:
An article-processing fee of $ 150/Equivalent Currency should be paid for each article accepted for publication.
Article Proofs
Proofs of accepted articles (pdf.) will be made available to the corresponding author via e-mail after formatting. The authors can annotate the corrections in the proof itself or the corrections can be sent in a separate word file by quoting page and line numbers. Only typographical and essential factual changes will be accepted at this stage. Corrections and query responses should be mailed within 48 hours /two working days to avoid delay in publication steps.
Publication:
The Journal of Aridland Agriculture follows a continuous publishing model and the accepted articles will be published online as they become ready. Moreover, the journal also adopting a calendar year issue cycle (each year will encompass a single volume and consist of a single issue).
